Booking terms and conditions
Our Chalet Booking Conditions vers 4.00
1. Booking confirmation
No contract shall exist between the client (which expression shall, where the context so admits, include all persons on whose behalf the client books) and Our Chalet until:
(a) this booking contract, signed by the client, is returned to Our Chalet with the deposit stated in the contract; and
(b) a confirmation of booking has been issued by Our Chalet to the client.
2. Deposit payment
The client’s deposit shall be paid within 1 month of the contract being issued, as per the date marked on the contract, and is non-refundable, unless approved by the Centre.
The deposit required is 30% of the total contract cost and shall be paid using one of the following methods:

- Credit/debit card
The client must contact Our Chalet with the necessary details. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and EC are all recognised methods of card payment.
- Swiss travellers cheques / Swiss Francs
- Bank Cheque
Deposit payments will most likely incur additional charges (eg. bank fees when wiring funds, administration fee of 3% for all card payments).
NB: Your client contract number must be quoted when paying the deposit.
3. Accommodation costs
Accommodation costs are inclusive of VAT and Tourist Tax.
Children aged 0 – 2 years inclusive shall receive free food and accommodation.
Children between the ages of 3 – 5 years inclusive shall pay half the accommodation and food cost.
Costs for food / programme activities / other services rendered are not included in the price of accommodation at Our Chalet.
4. Full payment by the client
Full payment (less any deposit prepaid) by credit or debit card (3% fee), CHF travellers cheque or cash (CHF, US$, £, €) is to be settled during the client’s stay at Our Chalet. The client who signed the booking contract shall be liable for full payment for all those persons to whom the booking contract applies and for any other persons who Our Chalet is subsequently requested to include in the booking.
5. Amendments by the client
Any change by the client to a booking which necessitates a revised booking contract being sent out may incur an amendment fee of CHF40, the only exception being if the amendment increases the number of persons booked.
6. Cancellations by the client
Cancellation shall take effect only when written notification from the person signing the booking contract is received by Our Chalet. In all cases of cancellation the deposit will be forfeited and if the booking is cancelled within 6 weeks of arrival the following cancellation fees expressed as a percentage of the total accommodation cost will become immediately payable to Our Chalet.
Within 6 weeks 50% of total contract cost (less deposit already paid)
Within 4 weeks 70% of total contract cost (less deposit already paid)
Within 2 weeks 100% of total contract cost (less deposit already paid)
7. Alterations by Our Chalet
In the unlikely event of Our Chalet making a major alteration to, or cancelling, a booking, Our Chalet shall offer to relocate the client to local accommodation of at least comparable standard and issue a full refund of the deposit paid by the client.
8. Damage by and behaviour of the client
Our Chalet and/or its employees shall be entitled to recover from the client the cost (estimated if not precisely known) of any damage caused by the client (including any person to whom the client’s booking contract applies). The client undertakes to, and ensure that all persons to whom the client’s booking contract applies do, behave in an orderly fashion and not disrupt the enjoyment of other guests or prejudice Our Chalet’s reputation with local businesses or other guests. If the client (including any person to whom the client’s booking contract applies) breaches this clause, that person’s stay at Our Chalet will be terminated forthwith and Our Chalet will have no further contractual obligations to that person (or the client), including no obligation to refund the accommodation cost for the remaining period of the person’s stay at Our Chalet.
9. Belongings of the client
All baggage and personal effects of the client shall be at all times and in all circumstances at the “owner’s risk”.
10. Limitation of liability
Our Chalet shall not be liable to the client for any loss, damage, injury or extra expense howsoever arising.
11. Refunds to clients
No refunds will be made by Our Chalet to a client for:
(a) unused accommodation and meals; or
(b) programme activities for which the client signs up but in which the client does not participate.
12. Jurisdiction
These Conditions and any contract to which they apply are governed in all respects by Swiss law.
